2018 Rising Star Writing Competition

2018 Rising Star Writing Competition

Rising Star Writing Competition For School Children Kicks Off On Easter Day – April 1, 2018.

The Third Season of The Rising Star Writing Competition takes off on April 1, 2018 and ends on May 30, 2018. According to the Project Coordinator of the programme and Chief executive officer of The Writers Corner, Uche Udoji (Mrs.), this year’s competition promises to be the biggest and the best, as more prizes are to be won in the different categories and more schools participating. “Fantastic prizes shall also be awarded to winners emerging from short story and poem entries in each of the categories. This doubles the number of winners in both categories – primary and secondary”, she said.

The Rising Star Writing Competition and Awards is an annual children creative writing competition and awards organized by The Writers Corner Lagos in collaboration with Vuvuzela Communication Limited to help to develop children’s creative writing skills while rewarding the winning entries with fantastic prizes. Each entry should either be a poem or a short story, exploring the theme “Family is Everything.” The word limit for a poem is 200 while that of a short story is 600 words.
